::Rocky Balboa::
Fri Dec 01st, 2006 2:00 am
Well Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone out there. It?s always exciting coming to the end of one year and the start of another. Like a fresh, new start. It gives you a chance to sit back and look over the past years challenges, heights, depths, lessons, trials, and triumphs. And not to just look at them and remember, but to learn from them and to change from them. That is the point of them after all isn?t it? I made a lot of mistakes this past year. I won?t bore you or scare you with a list but I learned a very important lesson from a very unlikely source last night. Garret and I went and saw the newest Rocky Balboa movie last night. We hadn?t seen each other all holiday and thought we get together and hang out. I went in expecting just another Rocky movie where he gets the crap beat out of him, and against all odds he comes back and reigns victorious. I won?t spoil the ending for anybody else who might want to see it. But Rocky Balboa taught me something I didn?t know I needed to learn. ?It doesn?t matter how hard you hit, it only matters how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward?. And it hit me then (no pun intended) that sometimes we focus on the wrong part of ?the game? of life. Now let me back track for a minute. God placed in my hands this Christmas a wonderful book by Max Lucado called ?Facing Your Giants?. In this book the author goes through the stories of David, pulling out important life lessons from David?s life, that frankly I had never seen before. One of the main points he makes very early on is that if you focus on the giants of life you?ll stumble, but if you focus on God your giants will tumble. There are a lot of giants in life; Divorce, Disappointment, Jobs, Peer Pressure, Loss of loved ones, Addictions, the list can go on and on with things that get us down and off focus. Now back to Rocky. ?It doesn?t matter how hard you hit, it only matters how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward?. We spend so much of our lives focused on battling our giants, our difficulties and addictions, and struggles. But we lose sight of the One who goes to battle FOR US. ?Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you? (Deuteronomy 3:22). If you focus on the giants of life you?ll stumble, but if you focus on God your giants will tumble. If we would only just keep our eyes on God, keep Him in focus, our giants suddenly shrink and pale in comparison. And God will fight the battle for you. It doesn?t matter how hard we can hit, cause it ain?t that hard. But thankfully you don?t need to hit hard because you have a God who packs a killer right hook (pardon the boxing clich?s it?s all I got). It only matters how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. If you would replace the word ?forward? with the words ?toward God? you get a very important lesson in perseverance. It only matters how hard you can get hit and keep moving toward God. And His word says that He?ll never let you take a shot that you can?t handle. ( Read 1 Corinthians 10:13) So move towards God RELENTLESSLY. He?ll cover you and you won?t stumble. Let God handle Goliath, you take your shots, learn your lessons and keep your chin up, cause you don?t learn anything sitting on the sidelines with your head down and your tail between your legs. God bless you all this new year of 2007. Take the time to reflect not just on what bad things have happened. But take stock of all the amazing blessings you?ve encountered all around you. Dave

::GO WEST YOUNG MEN::
Sun Dec 09th, 2007 6:00 am
hey! it?s jeremy here. hope you all are doing fantastic this summer.

just thought I?d check in since it?s been a while to see what?s up with you all and let you know what we?re up to the next few weeks.

the guys and I are flying out to Seattle, Washington tomorrow which is the furthest west of Maryland that we?ve been as a band so we?re pretty excited. while we?re out there we?re going to be playing a benefit concert in Winthrop (about 4 hours from Seattle) for a community that?s much in need. there will be a handful of other artists from around the country playing at the festival with us. we?re hoping that a lot of money can be raised for the community and that God?s light will shine through the all of artists playing and will encourage those attending the festival.

after the show, we?re going to be hanging out at a retreat for the next week getting to know some ?music industry? people, doing a little recording, writing?..and just relaxing (which will be awesome)! we?re really excited about the opportunity to be invited out to WA to do this!

after we get back, we?re definitely hitting the studio and getting some new stuff out SOON! I know we?ve been saying that for about 14 years now, but we?re starting to see a completed project?and we?re pretty excited to share it with you all! I?ll let you know some details as soon as we get closer?. thanks for your patience in this...you all are awesome!

well I seriously hope that if anyone is reading this, that you are doing well. if you ever have any prayer requests or just want to let us know what God is doing in your lives, we?d love to hear about it?.so please message us?.or e-mail us (theband@unsearchableriches.com)!

I know a lot of people can go through the ?summer blues??or you might be struggling with your relationships, your family, job, school, ministry?anything. I can get down with worry, guilt, and doubt about some of those things and things from the past?.but I?ve been learning more and more lately and would encourage you with whatever it might be that you may be having a hard time with?to be stay close to Jesus and be encouraged. God?s promises are for REAL.
I?ve been encouraged by these verses lately:

My God shall supply ALL your needs according to His riches and Glory in Christ Jesus - Phillipians 4:19

for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again - Proverbs 24:16

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest - Matthew 11:28

well if anyone is still reading this, thank you! Be encouraged and please stay in touch.
see you soon!

Praise God!! I feel so encouraged. I check in on our MySpace a couple times a day, and lately I?m just blown away. I?ve felt so down about stuff, I?ve felt like I?m not doing enough, like I?m not making an impact, and sometimes like the band isn?t making an impact. But how wrong I am. God is at work and it?s evident through the comments we?ve been getting. From Christian and non-Christian alike, the message is the same, people are encouraged and uplifted. Isaiah 55:11 in action ? ?so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire, and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.? i.e. ? simply speak the Word of God, and let him do what He wants to do with it, and know that it will not fail in its mission (it?s not up to you, it?s up to Him). It also reminds me of a story in 2 Kings 7 ? In an abbreviated form it goes like this. The city of Samaria came under siege from a foreign army. Things got really bad really quick, so bad that the only things to eat were donkey?s heads, bird poop, and each others children. Now there were 4 lepers outside the city who decided that they should do something, they said to each other ? lets go to the enemy camp and see if they will have mercy on us, cause if we enter the city we will starve, and if we sit here and do nothing we will die as well. So they went and on the way the Lord caused the enemy army to hear what sounded like invading armies and they all fled. The lepers arrive to find an empty camp full of food, supplies and anything else a starving city would need. Now what they say next is the truly amazing part they said ?we are not doing right. This is a day of good news, but we are keeping silent; if we wait till mornings light, punishment will overtake us. Now therefore come, let us go and tell?? Let me explain what my thoughts were when I read this. What a perfect parallel to today. We live in a world under siege by so many invading armies, either demanding our attention (multimedia advertising, movies, tv, radio, internet) or trapping us in our own walls (legalism, fear, despair, depression). We live in fear of being called names, in fear of losing our reputation, in fear of defeat, in fear of whatever. But we fail to let ourselves be used, we fail to open our eyes, look out the window of our hearts and see that THE BATTLE IS ALREADY WON!!! There?s no need to hide, there?s no need to starve ourselves to death by settling for donkey?s heads and bird poop so to speak. There?s a feast awaiting us if we just step out from behind the walls of whatever and realize that Jesus Christ laid down His life to save us from the death of which we are deserving from our sin. HE WON and through accepting His sacrifice and acknowledging Him as our Lord and Savior WE WIN TOO!!! This is a day of GOOD NEWS, we are not doing right by keeping silent, and living in fear. If we wait, it could end up being too late, Now let us GO and TELL. But realize that it?s not up to you too save, but to simply to speak the Word of God, and know that it will accomplish the exact purpose that God intends it too, and will not miss it?s mark. God bless you! Thank you for your words of encouragement and your prayers. Message us please if you have anything you want us to pray for you about. We love you all and thank God for you daily.

::...for Your name and Your renown::
Sat Dec 03rd, 2005 4:00 am
Isaiah 26:8 says, "Yes, LORD, walking in the way of Your laws, we wait for you; Your name and renown are the desire of our hearts.

I read this verse for the first time about a month ago. And for the past month it just hasn't left my thoughts. The conviction, the prospects, the power of living out that verse just wouldn't leave me alone. To truly live a life walking in obedience of God for the purpose of nothing but the spreading of His name, and the greatness, and majesty that He possess.

?How great is our God, sing with me how great is our God, and ALL the world will see how great, how great is our God.?

To live not for what I can gain, or what kind of name I can make for myself, or the band I play in, or for what people will remember me for; to live for God?s gain, and for what people will remember Him for, to live completely for someone else?s remembrance. To have that be the overwhelming desire of my heart. WOW. Can you imagine? Can you imagine the impact that could be had on peoples lives.

I?m a sinner, and I?m a selfish sinner. I want what I want, and I want to be remembered for generations to come for something ?great? that I did. But how could I even begin to dream of doing something more memorable than 1) Creating the entire universe (which has not even been fully measured because it is so large) and everything in it. 2) Making and caring about each individual person even to the point of knowing the exact number of hairs on each ones head. 3) Sending your own son to die for the people who do not want you so that you may spend eternity with the ones you created and love unconditionally.

The nerve it must take for me to believe that anything I do here could be more deserving of remembrance than that.

My point is simply this: life IS NOT ABOUT ME, and ITS NOT ABOUT YOU, its ALL about GOD and ALL about sharing, with everyone we come in contact with, the Great and Awesome things He has done for us, and for everyone willing to accept Him. How fulfilling a life we could live if only we lived it for His name and His renown.

::Carpe Diem::
Mon Nov 01st, 2004 5:00 pm
Hello everyone, it feels like it's been forever since I wrote in this journal (actually, it has been forever). I just wanted to write and tell you all how God has been moving in the band and my life personally. I have learned recently that life is not supposed to always be easy. God let's us go through trials so He can test us and strengthen us in our faith so we can better serve Him in everything we do. I am praying for God's will and direction for this band and especially the lives that make this band what it is. It's a scary thing at times to pray for God's will in my life instead of my own. It's hard to truly find God's will because there is always that feeling of wondering if what your doing is the right thing to do. But, that's where faith comes in. Psalm 34 is filled with the promise that God will always do what He says He will do and that we can trust Him with TOTAL confidence in everything we do and any situation we have to handle. Im learning that all we have is today, tomorrow is not guaranteed. I want to live this day and have no regrets. I want to go to sleep everynight Im given knowing I did everything thing I could for God, and had tons of fun doing it. I thank God for everyone who supports this band and continues to do so. In any and all situations God is in control. "Carpe Diem" which means "Seize the Day".....that's German, or French or something...who knows.

::SWEET!::
Thu Dec 09th, 2004 11:00 am
Hey everyone! I felt like it was about time for a journal update. Thanks to all those who were able to come out to our shows in Hagerstown and Westminster. It was great to meet some new friends and enjoy the company of familiar faces. Our former drummer and longtime friend Ethan Smith (who you may recognize as the drummer on the back cover of our last record) was playing in a worship band at our show in Westminster. It was great to see him (and his wife Katie) and catch up on everything going on in their lives.

We are pressing on in our quest to finish this record, I know you are all looking forward to some new tunes, and we can't wait to put them out there. I hope that you all will enjoy the direction that we have taken with this latest project. I am excited about it because I feel like it represents us more as a band, both musically and spiritually.

We have been enjoying a series of bible studies for the last few months with our new band pastor Russ Spikes. Some of you may notice Russ at our shows as the enthusiastic fellow in the back of the crowd shouting things like ?SWEET,? randomly throughout the set. He?s a great guy with a beautiful family and a servant?s heart, and we are so blessed to have him on board. He is a constant encouragement and keeps us rooted, and his wife makes these awesome desserts!!!

Oh, by the way, we are talking about putting together a fundraising concert for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. If anyone would be willing to help us out that would be great. We are looking for other bands, a venue, a sound system, advertisement, and anyone who would be willing to donate time. Drop us an email if you have any ideas.

On another subject, we are in desperate need of a new trailer. If anyone has an enclosed trailer that they wouldn?t mind donating or selling to us, we would greatly appreciate it! We were blessed to have a trailer loaned to us for the last 2 years, but unfortunately our loan has expired and we need to find a new one. We have been praying that God would provide a financially responsible way for us to acquire a new trailer and also a sound system. A sound system would allow us to further our ministry by playing more shows. A lot of times we are unable to participate in certain venues because a system is not provided or is inadequate. Being able to provide our own sound system would mean that we could play pretty much anywhere. Please pray that God will give us wisdom financially, and that he would (if it is his will) provide a sound system and trailer.

Thanks again for all of your support! God bless and God?s best!!

::Overflowing with God's Word::
Sat Dec 03rd, 2005 4:00 am
I read this verse about a week ago. Luke 6:45 "The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks." And over the past week I've used that verse in such a selfish, holier-than-thou way. I've used it against friends to point out and "rebuke" the things that they say, as if I have reached a holy level that gives me the right to judge their hearts and things they say. But I woke up this morning and read that verse again, and it had a new meaning to me. Instead of it being a point of judgement, it became an instruction to a deeper relationship with God, and a more fruitful ministry for Him. We're to store up in our hearts the things of God, the things that He instructs us and commands us to do; how to act and treat others, all of this laid out in His Holy Word that He gave us through the bible. It just brought me back to all the times teachers and pastors have stressed the importance of scripture memorization, and hiding God?s word in your heart, and this verse (luke 6:45) tells you the result of that. Out of the overflow of the heart (where you store God?s word, and His teachings) the mouth will speak. I apologize to all of those who I have wronged by misusing this verse to criticize you, and I hope that this can be of encouragement to all of you out there to seek God?s face, and to get into His word and store it in your hearts so that when you speak it is from the overflow of your heart filled with God, rather than evil. God bless you all in your walk with Him.

::1 John 1:9::
Sat Dec 03rd, 2005 4:00 am
God is so good. I keep reciting over and over in my head 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins to God, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and purify us from all unrighteousness." What a statement, I mean what an absolutely wonderful thing. I've been up for a while tonight, just marveling at His work. His work in the Creation of the universe, down to the minute details, and at His refining work in my life, and the life of this band. God is soo good. No words are adequate enough to describe, and no song can capture the beauty of what God does for us on a daily basis, and through the redeeming work of His Son Christ Jesus. I'm just amazed.

::patience is a virtue::
Sun Dec 05th, 2004 11:00 pm
Well, hello again. I guess it's time to liven things up again. Not a whole lot new going on with us. We just got back from New Jersey where we opened for Sanctus Real. They're all really cool guys, and they rock it out too! Much thanks to them and the promorter Rod for their hospitality and genorosity to give us the oppurtunity. In other news, we've been learning alot recently about the power of prayer. The saying "be careful what you wish for..." can be restated "be careful what you pray for..." And I know everyone in the band has been praying for patience lately, and it wasn't until after we prayed for it that we realized God wasn't just gonna give it to us and not have us exercise it. All that to say, we're trying to wait patiently on the Lord to lead us in the direction He wants us to go, and not jump the gun and get the cart before the horse (I'm trying to see how many cliche's I can use in 1 journal entry). But God is faithful in so many ways, and everyday I see that more and more. Some of the guys and I were thinking back about the past couple of years and just were amazed at God's faithfulness to protect us from ourselves. SO many times we wanted to go one direction, and He saved us from the mistakes of a lifetime by not allowing us to have what we wanted. Guys, God is soo good, and we should be on our knees every second just worshipping and thanking Him for the fact that we can breathe, let alone have the grace and mercy of His salvation, and not to mention spend eternity in the presence of the Almighty Creator of heaven and earth. I get chills thinking about. Anyways, I hope this encourages some of you. Thank you all for your prayers for us as a band and as individuals, we need it so desperatly. May God bless you all and we hope to see you at the next show!

::The Cheese Heads::
Sun Dec 05th, 2004 1:00 am
Hey y?all, just wanted to say hello! The boys and I had a great time last weekend up in Wisconsin, playing at the junior high Convo. The kids were so cool up there in the cheese state and they gave us such a warm welcome. We co-hosted the event with Christian comedian/speaker Keith Deltano and a great artist named John David Webster. You all should definitely check him out! He was great, and I still have his song ?Shine? stuck in my head. Go to his website and listen to his stuff? it?s really good! "come on and, SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIINE, come on and SHIIIIIIIIIIIIINE!!" (www.johndavidwebster.com) We really had a great time hanging out with him and his guitarist Kyle. I was in heaven staying up until 2 am watching Queen and ELO live DVDs with these guys!! I couldn?t find any cheese-heads while we were up there and I was bummed about that. At a gas station the only thing that I could find was a miniature foam cheese wedge thingy, so I bought that instead. Oh well, there?s always next time! Please bring us back to Wisconsin! We are only a phone call and 14 hours away! But seriously, we?d love to come out there again!! I want to send special thanks to Tyler, Dave, J.D., and the rest of the technical crew. You guys were so patient with us and I can?t thank you enough. An also thank you to all the leaders who were so kind to us and supportive of our ministry! Thank you so much? you?ve got a great group of kids. Well kids, until next time! Study, Pray, Love?

::Road Trip::
Sat Dec 03rd, 2005 4:00 am
Hey y?all! I just wanted to let you know that we are still alive, although I don?t feel like it since I just got back from a twelve-hour drive from Nashville! Last weekend the boys and I played the tail end of a great jr. high rally in Clinton, IL and the following morning we did 2 worship services at the church that organized the event. It was a blast and the kids were awesome! I will have more on that later? From there we drove down to Nashville for GMA week. Dave and Justin flew back Monday morning while Jeremy and I stuck around to shake hands kiss babies and let people know that we are still around and kicking and actually making a dent on some level. Again, I will have more on that later? I just wanted to say ?hi? before I go to sleep until we have to go to Erie, PA on Friday morning? and yes I will most likely sleep for the next 18 hours? I could use it! Study, pray, love!

Fri Dec 03rd, 2004 10:00 pm
Hey, hows everyone doing? It's been a really long time since I've been on this thing. Luckly Garret has been keeping you all to date on stuff. We had a great show Sunday night at Lancaster County Bible Church, thanks to the hard work of a kid named Cory, and two phenomenal bands, Unsettled, and Leisure Van. We had an awesome time hanging out with them. The show went pretty well, Jeremy, Garret and I had a little bet going to see who could outperform the others. (I won, of course ;-) ) Which led to not one of our tightest shows ever, but definitly the most fun I've ever had. Thanks to everyone who was there, you guys were a blast and made it so much fun for us. If you ever get a chance make sure you check out the other two bands, Unsettled (unsettledtheband.com) and Leisure Van (leisurevanrocks.com) They're both real fun bands and great guys, so check em out. Alright well I gotta get going to practice, hopefully we'll see you all at our next two shows in PA on the 2nd and 3rd of April, check out the shows page for more details. As my fine redheaded friend Garret would say, "Study, Pray, Love"

::Unpuzzled::
Fri Dec 03rd, 2004 10:00 am
Every once in a while a feeling of doubt runs through my head. Sometimes I just don't know why i'm still doing this. You know... working retail, being broke, driving 45 minutes twice a week for practice, missing birthdays, never seeing my friends... i could go on, but you get the idea. Sometimes I wonder why i sacrifice all of these things. I could be totally cliche and say "it's all about the music" or "I just love playing". But I know there has to be more to it than that... Today, in a rather candid AIM conversation with Donna Yagel, the leader of our unofficial fan club (the Sharpie's Jigsaw Crowd), I realized why God allows me to survive the madness that is "Unsearchable Riches". Donna shared with me some very serious ways that our music has touched her life and the lives of those around her. It's a strange feeling to know that you are a piece of something bigger than yourself. Impacting someone isn't a tangible thing. It isn't something that you can always see or touch or feel... especially when the person is someone you hardly know, or only have contact with for a few fleeting moments. I think that is why it's sometimes hard to know that you are a part of that. I thank all of you for being so supportive. And I thank God for gracing me with the privilage to play in this band and serve you and Him. I know it may sound cheesy, but if you only knew the things that I have been through to get to this place in my life and relationship with God. Only then would you understand how/why I really identify with Paul when he said: "... to me, who is less than the least of the saints, this grace was given, that i might preach among the gentiles, the unsearchable riches of Christ..." Thank you...
Garret

::Anyone Listening?::
Fri Dec 03rd, 2004 3:00 pm
Hey everybody. You Know I don't really know if you guys read these because I don't usually get any feedback from them. But I have found that writing these entries are a great way to unwind a bit. And I like that... So anyway, this past weekend was a busy one. Jeremy had been sick all week and we were all praying that he would pull through for our shows in MD Friday and Saturday. Well by the grace of God he did and we had two better than average shows. I won't lie and say they we great, they were a little rough, and not because of jeremy. In fact, He did an outstanding job, especially considering his week in bed! But there are good days and bad days... these were just somewhere in between. But at least both audiences were into it and that is all that we can hope for! Sometimes, for some unknown reason, the shows that we feel we play the worst at, are the ones that people are more into or touched by. Go figure! The show Friday was at the Well in College Park. We've played there so many times that the stage there just feels like home now. It's nice to play local shows because we get to see our friends and family and people that we haven't seen in quite a while. On Saturday we played in Brookeville, another familiar place. I could be wrong but I believe that we played there when they had their inagural "get Reel" coffee house. Everyone there was very kind and I have to send a special thank you to the sound guy Fred for being so patient with us. I met a nice gentleman and his family after the show and we had a merry time chatting about classic rock and other things of that nature. Then i realized that everything was being packed up without me (as usual) and I needed to get to work or else there would be auditions to replace me in the near future. i would just like to thank the lovely people at both venues this weekend for being so generous and kind to us all! You both have very cool ministries going on and I wish you the best from the bottom of my heart!! Well, I should get to bed, it's quite late and I have to work at that silly day job again! oh well, here's a tip kids... "go to college" :lol: take care god bless and remember... "study, pray, love" g

::New Stuff::
Thu Dec 02nd, 2004 1:00 am
Hello boys and gurls... just thought the journal page was looking a bit bare so i figured i would give you a tasty morsel of news and stuff to chew on. Sadly our show in Greensboro, NC this past weekend (due to the "winter wallop" as the weather people are calling it) was postponed. We will let you all know as soon as it is rescheduled. Once the roads became safer Jeremy and I treked out to a local sports themed restaraunt to have a good cry over hot wings as the Steelers were steamrolled my the Pats. At least the Ravens fans were happy. Recording news, we've layed down tracks on the first 5 songs for our upcoming album. We look forward to unveiling a slightly more sophisticated side of UR. But don't worry kids, it isn't a huge departure from the fun-lovin upbeat sounds of ur that "u-r" used to hearing at one of our shows. In fact you may even hear more of that rockin' live sound in this new record. We are really excited about our new material and hope to be slowly integrating it into our live shows since only one song has really been "road-tested". Please pray for us as this is a huge financial undertaking for us. Money is tight as it is and we need to use wisdon when booking time in the studio. We were lucky for our first record that we didn't have to pay for about 2/3 of the "songs to be sung" record. Most of the songs were recorded as demos for record companies. If there is anyone who believes in our ministry and what we do and would like to possibly sponsor us, please contact us. By the way everyone should check out our myspace and purevolume sites. They both seem like great oppertunities to stretch our borders and have our music be heard in new places. There are links to both of them on our main news page. I wanna send a special thank you to the sharpie crew members who drove all the way down to Ellicott City, MD to check out our show on Friday. We appreciate your commitment to us you guys are awesome!!! If there are any of you out there who don't know the sharpie crew or what they are. Check out their great fan site and find out how you can become a member of "the Jigsaw Crowd" at www.moonlit-dance.net/sharpie Got any ideas, pictures, experiences or thoughts that you would like to share please e-mail us: theband@unsearchableriches.com Happy new year and until next time... study, pray love...

::A Pretty Good Night indeed::
Thu Dec 02nd, 2004 3:00 pm
Hey everyone! It's Jeremy here. Hope you all are doing great! Things are going well here...we just played most likely our last show of the year at the Well Coffeehouse in College Park, MD on Friday. It was good to see some great people again and meet some new ones. Thanks to those of you who made it out and for the good time. :)

I recently got back from Nashville where I was down writing with some folks and visiting some friends. Doug McKelevey (an awesome lyricist that we've worked with now for a few years) and I finished a new Christmas song called "Pretty Good Night."

The song basically touches on how on the night of Christ's birth, God sent the angels to deliver the most miraculous news ever (a Savior is born) to maybe the most unlikely people...the shepherds. They were probably known as the outcasts or the "unimportant people."

It's amazing how God used the shepherds for something so amazing and how that had an effect on all of us.

If you?d like to hear a demo of it, I guess you can go to the news page and click on the link.
We hope it brings a Christmas cheer to you! :)

Allrighty, I'm going to get something to eat...all that typing made me hungry!
We'll see you all soon...keep in touch!

Take care,

Jeremy

Hello everyone, it tis' Justin. Thought I would drop a few lines about this weekend and life in general. This weekend we played at Summit Lake. The band as you, know, has played there before....but I haven't had the chance to until now. I thought all in all it was a good expierence. Me and Dave drove to town on Friday and talked about birds and dragons. He said birds were kinda like dragons but they cant spit fire...if they could that would stink. Because then when a bird poops on your windshield....it would set your car on fire. Then, we both sang songs to each other about how bad my drum solo is...by the way my drum bat's say thankyou for giving them a warm welcome. -Kid

Hey guys, just wanted to send a quick journal entry to all of you to keep you in the loop. pleaswe pray for Jeremy as he flew to nashville (after voting this morning) to do some writing this week. we are all excited about the new music we hope to bring you on our next release. it looks as though time has been booked for right after thanksgiving to get the majority of the project recorded. please pray that we come up with some sweet tunes for the record. i know there aren't a whole lot of shows listed right now, but rest assured that will change as soon as the recording process gets underway. it's funny how it looks like a slow time in the UR world when it actually feels quite busy! take care and God bless!

Hey there everyone, it tis' Justin. I thought I would write in the journal since the rest of the band has already done so. See, I felt so left out that I started to cry. But then Dave came over and gave me a peppy pep talk. He said: "It's okay, just watch me play bass and realize how amazing I am". Garret told me: "Kid..don't worry...listen to jelly fish..they will make you feel all happy inside". Then Jeremy gave me his elderly word of wisdom, he said: "Justin, listen to Smitty....he's so good and stuff". Okay..truthfully....I just wanted to try this out..so that's that people!!!

::WE NEED SHOWS!!::
Tue Dec 09th, 2003 2:00 pm
Hey everyone. Just checking in to say hi and thanks to everyone who came out to Black Rock Retreat Center for their 50th Anniversary and to see our concert. We had a great time despite the coldness. Please keep us in your prayers as we work to book more shows (i'm sure you all noticed the lack of them) if you or anyone you know (family, friends, long lost distant cousins thrice removed) have a church or event they would like us to play at please have them contact us through our booking page. Thanks again to all the loyal fans and to the ones who haven't quite come around yet.
Dave

::New Record?::

Hello all you rich gURls and boys!! I hope this journal entry will prevent the masses from rioting in the streets!! I apologize on behalf of the guys for not utilizing the journal section of our website more frequently. The summer was a busy one and it's always hard to find time to update things when things are happening so fast.

We have recently been working in the studio on some brand new songs. We had intended to record a 3 or 4 song EP for winter release, but our first sessions in the studio in Delaware turned out so good that we decided to go ahead and work through the winter to put together our own album. Please pray for us as the music, lyrics and finances are being figured out. Recording is a very taxing process and we hope that it will turn out great. Jeremy's writing is at a more mature place than ever, and we are working well as a band to come up with interesting arrangements. I hope we don't disappoint. If there are any songs that we currently play in our set that are not featured on our current album that you would like to hear on our next prject, let us know by e-mail or the guestbook.

On a related topic, we tried this once before, but if you have any suggestions for a new t-shurt design send it in via e-mail or snail mail. There will be a special prize for the person with the best concept or design.

We've decided that we now have an official fan club for tthose of you who aren't in the loop. There has been a very dedicated group of people that have been faithfully attending UR shows in several states for the last year or so. The group, known as the "sharpie crew" has an awesome fansite filled with funny videos, quizes, band profiles, hundreds of pictures and anything you need to know about UR. The URL is:

www.moonlit-dance.net/sharpie

Check it out and learn how you can become a member of the official UR fan club.

Well, i should probably get to bed. It's late and I'm hungry.
peace, love, and stuff :)

::A Walk to Remember::
Mon Dec 08th, 2003 10:00 am
Hey everyone! What's up? It's been a while...so I thought we should give you guys some updates. We just got back from a couple of shows in NC this week which were much fun. It?s funny (I guess) to say we got our first flat tire on the side of the road in NC on our way down there. Garret and Dave were nice enough to walk what they thought would be ONE mile and ended up being FIVE miles to the nearest Auto store to get some bolts and WD40 and stuff (the old ones were way too rusted on the tire)...so anyways, when they made it back to the van later that afternoon?Justin and I already had the tire changed for them! (oh wait, it was actually 2 nice guys with the right tools who decided to stop and help us). But anyways, it was interesting. We were late for our sound check in Greensboro that afternoon, but everything turned out fine and the show was lots of fun. We played with a band called Tin Man Jones the next night in Garner, NC. They were an awesome band! Be sure to check out their website www.tinmanjones.com...great bunch of guys and we hope to hook up and play some more shows with them again! Well have a great rest of the summer (can?t believe it?s almost over)! We are looking forward to the fall and are talking and praying about possibly recording again soon. If you can keep that in your prayers for the band (the expense and details of it all), that would be oh so kind. Thanks again for everyone?s support of the band. Please e-mail us anytime at theband@unsearchableriches.com. In Him,
Jeremy

::MI here we come::
Sun Dec 07th, 2003 5:00 pm
Hey! Well its been too long so I decided to write again. Garret got back from Holland safely on Saturday and rejoined us on Sunday for our show in Annapolis which was, well...interesting. And then we ended up playing at the same place for the same people on Tuesday as well. Both shows we very enlightening and we hope to learn from our mistakes. We're leaving for Michigan early tommorrow morning with hopes of getting there the same night with plenty of time to relax and hang out. Please be in prayer for our trip there and back and for the show that God's will will be done. Thanks again for everyones support (buy more T-shirts) and we look forward to seeing you at our upcoming shows (bring everyone you know). In His Service
Dave
